Phil Van Horn
Phil has in-depth knowledge of and hands-on experience in management, leadership, education, and community development. He has expertise in the areas of board development, team building, strategic planning, and leadership. His most recent article, “Avoiding Board Traps”, was published in the 2008 edition of Pfeiffer Annual Consulting.
Phil doesn’t just write about what it takes to provide great board service - he actually practices what he preaches. He’s been at the helm of a $350 million financial company for fifteen years and has chaired national, state and local boards of directors. At last count, he had combined for more than ninety years experience serving on nonprofit, government and private boards.
He holds a B.A. in Psychology from Westminster College and M.Ed. from the University of Missouri.
